There is no end to the amount of passwords we need for our online activities. We may remember a password or two, or maybe we rely on password managers, but that doesn't mean it's easy to keep track of all these passwords. This blog post talks about how to create a spreadsheet that organizes your password information into different columns based on the type of account you're accessing. Editing this spreadsheet is much easier when the spreadsheet is password protected. If you're not happy with the password you created, you can use File > Make a Copy of your file to copy your password-protected version without having to remember it. What's more, once you've created this spreadsheet, you can see all the passwords of every account in the organization at a glance. This makes it easy to access your account information even when you are offline. For example, if you have iCloud accounts for your contacts and devices but are using the same iCloud account for many other tasks, including an iTunes account or more iTunes accounts, then this template will help organize all of them into one place. The data columns in this template may not be particularly relevant for all accounts, but you can just change the column names and remove the columns you don't need for your account. You can customize your spreadsheet depending on how much information you want to store about each of these accounts. For example, you might want to add additional columns: "Password:Longer text" entry: This is where you will enter the password when opening the spreadsheet when using an older version of Excel. You can enter a password in format "XXXXXXX." "Notes:" This is where you will make notes about each account. If there are any special instructions or details about an account, detail them here.
